Hand Bookbinders of California 53rd Annual @ American Bookbinders Museum

This year’s annual exhibit contains books in three categories: new works by members, Rainbow Pride Flag books, and Set books. I have work in the first two categories. The new work I’ve contributed is Ostracod Rising.
Last spring, Insiya Dhatt arranged for HBC to be the third recipient of a 30-by-20-foot Rainbow Pride flag, retired from San Francisco’s Harvey Milk Plaza in the Castro neighborhood. The flag was refreshed for the opening of the Castro Street Fair and first flew on the day of Dianne Feinstein’s passing. Each participant received a 10-inch by 20-foot section containing all six colors. I created a work called Surface Tension, inspired by Claude Debussy’s conviction that “music is the space between the notes.,”
